TPS-AQUA
TPS-AQUA is an expert in breeding, housing, and distributing fish and xenopus models.
Our models are :
- zebrafish Danio rerio,
- medaka Oryzias latipes,
- Mexican tetra Astyanax mexicanus,
- Cichlids (Neolamprologus brichardi, Maylandia spp.)
- Xenopus : laevis and tropicalis
Our facilities consist of 600m² in the Paris-Saclay Neuroscience Institute (NeuroPSI). The TPS-AQUA team handles lines produced by TPS-EDIT
TPS-AQUA offers:
- husbandry services
- distribution of tissues, eggs, larvae, or adults.
TPS-AQUA optimises housing conditions with standard practices.
It adapts housing conditions to each species, with the constant aim of improving animal welfare.
Each year, TPS-AQUA organizes 3 to 4 sessions of training courses for certification for the use of aquatic models.
57 hours of training (45 hours of theorical courses + 12 hours of practical courses).
This training is dedicated to students (Master degree or Ph.D. levels), zootechnicians, engineers, and researchers.
- CELPHEDIA : TPS-AQUA participates to the Ethics & Animal Welfare working group ;
- ComAqua, network composed by aquatic model experts who share and disseminate best practices for aquatic facilities, offering tools and methods, etc.
- SBEA IDF : TPS-AQUA provides advice and training for users of aquatic models of the NeuroPSI Institute.
